Day 2: Too Fruity

I started my day off with my morning routine because if it’s this hot in Orlando, I’m going to need to be on my A game with skincare.

Our motel had a complimentary breakfast buffet and I wanted to check it out so I quickly finished up my routine and then headed downstairs to go eat. There were 4 big sections: one section with eggs, sausages, and vegetables; one for making Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes; one with cereal and yogurt; and then one section that contained a soda foundation with very limited options. I’d say the breakfast is comparable to the average school lunch. The eggs and sausages are EXACTLY the ones that you would find in a school cafeteria. Though, it’s not bad but it’s not delicious.

The air conditioning is absolutely horrendous in the room I’m staying in. The other room that the other half of our party is staying in has a central air conditioning system which blows our bummy AC completely out of the park.

After that, we headed out to Hollywood Studios for our first park of the trip because when my family visited for the first time, we weren’t able to finish Hollywood and had to leave right after the Tower of Terror. This time, we were able to complete most of the rides that we wanted to ride. In these journals, I’ll try to steer away from mentioning every detail of my day and try to only include the interesting stories and rollercoasters.

There were really only two traditional rollercoasters in this park which were the muppets-themed one and then the Slinky Dog Dash. I unfortunately do not own a pair of any sort of contact lenses, which would’ve been the most useful at this time. On the muppet rollercoaster, I was constantly scared of my glasses being absolutely obliterated. The ride itself was insane and had so many spirals and turns. But instead of worrying about the ride, I was more worried about whether my glasses would survive. They had a little kangaroo pouch attached to the seat in front of me for glasses and I was staring dead-on at that pouch the whole time to see if my glasses would fly off. It didn’t really matter anyway because it was pitch black anyways.

There was also the Tower Of Terror. This was the one ride I vividly remembered in my head because of how scary it was for me as a child. It’s basically just an elevator that drops you really fast, similar to those slingshot rides that you can find at a lot of those old traditional theme parks. Though, the Tower of Terror is slower and the range of vertical motion is much lower.

The Slinky Dog Dash was really chill and located outdoors. We rode it during the nighttime, so the cool breeze felt insanely nice. It was basically the perfect speed to enjoy a traditional rollercoaster. I would say up to that point, that was the best ride that we visited.

I brought my larp camera with me to the park and since I wore really baggy pants, I was able to fit it snuggly into my pocket. It was a pocket camera that I could quickly take out and snap a photo with. My fit was definitely off but that’s an issue for uhh… maybe tomorrow. The fit is relevant because I wanted to get some “aesthetic” pictures but wasn’t able to because of how terrible my fit was. Specifically, my pants were a little TOO baggy. I’m pretty sure the target audience of the pants I had were more towards girls but I was too ignorant to care.

In a lot of the photos that I took, I didn’t exactly know how to pose as “a guy”. My quote unquote photographers felt little obligation to take any photos of me and said they couldn’t help me with how “fruity I was”. I guess they tried. but they also gave up really fast and said I was unsaveable. I think I’ve seen too many aesthetic girl pictures online that that’s the only thing in my head when I take a picture. That must be where the fruitiness has to be coming from I think.

I promise I am a STRAIGHT male but I cannot guarantee that you will believe me.

I can’t remember that much, but we went to Five Guys for dinner and got a few small treats since we already had a massive lunch at an Asian AYCE buffet.

Definitely didn’t include all the details I originally wanted to include but that’s a pretty good recap of my day right there :). I definitely see myself getting burned out once again with these daily journals.

Day 3: Ocho Towels

Today we visited Epcot, aka the larping Disney World park (that’s what I would call it at least).

We visited all the countries in the world tour and actually didn’t go on that many rides. My favorite country to visit was probably France because Ratatouille is based in France and I find it to be such an inspirational movie. It’s inspirational to me because well, cooking. Despite a lot of resistance from my family on buying a piece of Ratatouille merch, I was able to beg my way to buying a Remy keychain. Throughout the day I saw someone with a Remy on their shoulders every so often and was wondering how they got it. I still couldn’t figure it out at the gift shop unfortunately, but I wish I got that Remy plush instead because the Remy keychain is just going to get dirty and I’ll be sad (similar to how my Labubu is turning part black because of how dirty it is, though the Labubu is irrelevant now).

The only good and thrilling ride Epcot had was the Guardians of the Galaxy one. It was a really good thrill ride and the AC during the ride was SO soothing. This was another one of the rides that I was scared was going to obliterate my glasses, but thank god I brought my glasses case today (I forgot to mention that I didn’t bring one with me for Hollywood Studios so that’s why I was so paranoid). We stayed in the park until 10 PM and then went to eat Chipotle and Chick-Fil-A.

Now here’s the story of the day. So at our motel, there is supposedly room service every three days. But when we arrived back at our room this day, NOTHING was done to our room. Besides one thing. There were no more towels!

Me and my cousin were sent on a mission to get more towels and instead of walking a few blocks down to the front desk of the resort, I decided that I would try stopping by the laundry room that I always saw towels being washed in. I led us down to the long room and then there was a guy there. The guy only spoke Spanish so I had to lock in. He understood when I asked him for towels in English, but then he didn’t understand how many I wanted when I gave him a number in English. I tried to use my fingers to give him a number but he got a little confused and thought I only wanted four towels. Here came my Spanish skills from my 8th grade Spanish classes. I asked for “ocho towels” and he was FLABBERGASTED. Flabbergasted. His mouth was agape and it was so funny. Of course, when I write out “so funny” it doesn’t seem so funny anymore and I sincerely apologize for my lacking range of vocabulary and vernacular that allows for such a dull story.

After his flabbergasted reaction, he asked me for how many people and I said, “cuatro,” which he understood and accepted my request with a little reluctance. He probably thought I was some lunatic for asking for that many towels but we needed those towels, I think. Eight sounds reasonable right? One for my body, one for my hair, one for my face, one for my hands, one for my feet, one for my… nevermind. We need MORE than eight. I’m kidding.

I’m typing this up a few days later than the actual day 2 because I don’t have much time to write. I’ve been getting home extremely late so I definitely might’ve forgotten a lot of funny stories and moments that I originally wanted to write about so yeah. On to writing for the next few days! Hooray!

Just as a reminder for myself, I ate Chipotle for dinner today. The day after, I ate Texas Roadhouse and A LOT of steak. Yum yum (oh hell naw I sound way too corny)!

Day 4: Word Of Advice Pt. 1

Do NOT go to Animal Kingdom.

Day 5: “Yo, I Wanna Try Your Water!”

Water tastes the same, Frank.

Today, we went to the last Disney Park on our list: Magic Kingdom.

After having our legs absolutely fried and dealing with the copious amounts of prehistoric air conditioners (fans) at Animal Kingdom, we went home early. Animal Kingdom was just not it. There was maybe only one good ride there, which was the Mount Everest ride. The cobweb-like design of the park was awful because all the attractions were so far away from each other. Not to mention the fact that it was the hottest day so far.

Since we went home early, we rested really well for Magic Kingdom. On the night of Animal Kingdom, I was in a really bad mood because of how tired I was and because of the fact that we had to get up at 7 AM the next day and then stay at Magic Kingdom until 11 PM.

We woke up at 9 AM (THANK YOU FOR NOT WAKING US UP AND LETTING US SLEEP WELL). My legs were ready for the long day and I was energetic. We went down to eat breakfast, did our morning routines, and then headed out for the day. Magic Kingdom did not disappoint. It was the most popular park for a reason. The technology was good, and you also had to take a ferry or monorail just to get to Magic Kingdom. The park had so much aura that it needed transportation to get there.

There were so many good photos to take within all the Disney Parks because of the architecture and aesthetics and just EVERYTHING. It’s too bad that I’ve been strapped for war each day with my camera and snoopy bag. It’s just way too annoying to take everything off for a photo. I’m also just not traveling with people who want to constantly take photos. There’s obviously the iconic Cinderella Castle at the center of the Magic Kingdom, but I can just imagine all the auraful photos anyone can take at all of the parks.

I wanted to get better at photography and posing during this trip for my friends, myself, and my future girlfriend. I’m not really sure of my progress so far, but I’m getting a little flamed so there’s some feedback for how terrible I am. Well, I don’t think I’m terrible, but I’m definitely not a pro.

We went on some rides and yada yada. The most hyped and exciting ride there was “Tron Lightcycle / Run”. It had its own entire section in the park and it was so COOL. I’m not doing it justice right now but it had so much aura and you could just feel it. The best way (or maybe not the best way) I could describe it is to just imagine lights spinning all around you at a transcending rate. The best time to go on the ride was nighttime, so naturally we lined up for about two hours in line for it. It was also thunderstorming and every time lightning appeared, the scene was so majestic.

While in line for Tron, there was a group of three Japanese girls behind us who were so fineeee. I couldn’t tell if they were visiting from Japan or were Japanese American because their entire Instagram ecosystem was in Japanese, but when they spoke English, I didn’t really notice an accent. It’s like those rare encounters that you only see once. They bumped into my elbow a couple of times (shiii they might want me delulu ahh).

The ride itself was really short, and you were seated at a really steep angle. The best way I could describe the seating position was… uhh. Nevermind. The atmosphere was MAGNIFICENT (I’m just throwing in random synonyms now).

After Tron, there was another ride we went on before the park had its closing firework show. It was basically just like any other firework show. We went home on the monorail which was way worse than the MTA trains. There was a guy who had a stroller with RGB gamer fans installed to cool him down. That guy is definitely a genius because his execution of the idea was so perfect (straight glaze).

We left the park at 11:20 PM and got to the parking lot at 12 AM. The exit lines were so long so it took us an entire hour to get to our car. Then we went to McDonald’s and Wawa (a gas station store with good smoothies).

At Wawa, my brother got a complimentary large cup of water. We were waiting for our smoothies but I wanted something to drink so I blurted out, “Yo, I wanna try your water!”

Again, water tastes the same, Frank.

Disney was pretty good, but can Universal do better?
